Alhamdulillah, our new Islamic Centre in South Harrow is now open — offering daily prayers, educational classes, and community services.
After 15 years of dedication, we are delighted that the Shahjalal Islamic Centre officially opened in July 2024 in South Harrow, offering educational classes for children, daily prayers, and many more community services.
We purchased our premises without any external loans, Alhamdulillah. We kindly seek your generous support to help us clear our Qard-e-Hasana and strengthen our community's future.

Our story and mission
In 2007, a small group from our local Bangladeshi community came together with the vision of establishing a place for congregational Salah. After discussions with the South Ruislip Community Association, they kindly allowed us to use Deane Park Hall for Jumu'ah prayers every Friday.
What started as a small gathering has now grown to nearly 200 people performing Jumu'ah and Eid prayers at this facility, Alhamdulillah.
After 15 years of dedication and effort, we are delighted to announce that we have finally secured our own premises to establish a permanent Islamic Community Centre. The Shahjalal Islamic Centre officially opened in July 2024, offering educational classes for children, daily prayers, and many more services as we continue to grow.
Alhamdulillah, we have been able to purchase the premises without any external loans. However, we have Qard-e-Hasana to repay and outstanding project costs to settle with our contractor. We kindly seek your generous support to help us clear these commitments and strengthen our community's future.

Shahjalal Islamic Academy
Students are expected to dress modestly and in accordance with Islamic guidelines. Boys should ensure their legs are covered at least to the knee, and girls are encouraged to wear a headscarf or hijab. All students must wear loose-fitting, modest clothing, and clothing with inappropriate images or messages is not permitted.
Please ensure that all homework is completed to a high standard. Students must bring all exercise books, their Qur'an or relevant Juz, and a fully equipped pencil case every week, with pencils sharpened and ready to use. Before each half-term break, students will take a term assessment covering the topics taught during that period.
The Academy has the right to refuse and withdraw students at their own discretion. Parents can withdraw students at any stage with one month's notice.
Any misconduct or disrespectful behaviour may result in a formal warning, suspension, or removal from the Academy.
